How To Attract Traffic While You Are Sleeping?

Filed Under (Luis How To Library) by Luis Tee on 15-05-2008

In order to keep your blog hot and on top of the search engine ranking(especially for make money blogging and affiliate marketers), you will have to always post articles to attract as much traffic as you could (preferably one daily). But you may not find it possible because of other commitments at the same time. You may want to go for holidays, join some social activities, spend some time with your family or even worse, you may get sick that you are not possible to post any articles for say weeks!

In today’s Luis’s How To Library, I am going to share with you a way where you could still continue to post your articles when you are not free for days, weeks or even months. The secret is on the “Post TimeStamp” at the right bottom corner in the “Write” page in Wordpress. This is a powerful but often neglected tool that Wordpress could offers.

may-08-how-to-post-your-blog-while-you-are-sleepingdoc.gif

“Post TimeStamp” allows you to set the day, month and year you want to get your articles posted. It even allows you to set the time (in hour and minute) you want your post to be published. All you have to do is entering the date and time you want, and Wordpress will do the rest. It is that simple.

 may-08-how-to-post-your-blog-while-you-are-sleepingdoc-1.gif

The strengths of this feature are:

  1. Flexible posting time- you can complete and organize your articles weeks ahead.
  2. Organize work- As you can do your articles ahead, you will find it easier to organize your post and content.
  3. Utilize time effectively.

I always write my articles ahead of time, I call it Article Inventory. Currently I have inventory which could last for the next one month or so. This feature is particularly important for part time affiliate marketers and bloggers (like me) because they could utilize their time more effectively, say for example if they are not free on weekdays, they could always write the whole list of articles on Weekend and program them to be posted in the days they want.

For those who want to be successful in making money blogging and affiliate marketing, you will find this helpful. One thing for sure, your post will continue to publish, while you are sleeping.

For your pursuit of Happyness.

Today I am going to share with you how you are going to change your theme to your customized SEO wordpress blog. The first thing you want to do is to navigates to the login of your blog, for example in my case www.greatselflearner.com/wp-admin. You will go a page where you have to key in your user name and password.

So login to the site by entering the username and password.

 username-and-password.gif

Then you should be brought to the “Dashboard” in the Wordpress.

 dashboard.gif

Choose “Presentation” from the menu bar.

 presentation.gif

You will see a list of themes in the presentation which are pre installed with your SEO package.

 list-of-theme.gif

To select or change your blog theme, you will just click on one of the theme, say for example Black and White theme, you will see the Current Theme (on top of the page) being changed to Black and White theme.

 current-theme.gif

Go to “View Site” just beside the Great Self Learner header, you will go to your site with the theme changed to Black and White theme feature.

view-site.gif

It is easy. Choosing a theme could be important because that will kind of decide your image and brand, avoid theme with dull or dark in color because it will give the visitors the wrong impression. Choose something bright and delightful because that will bring a message of energy, passion and enthusiasm.

Exactly How Affiliate marketers get Commission?

Filed Under (Luis How To Library) by Luis Tee on 04-05-2008

There are basically 4 ways affiliate marketers get their commission online.

  1. Pay per click
  2. Pay per sales
  3. Pay per sign up/lead
  4. Pay per post

What I am going to share with you today is Pay per Click commission. In pay per click commission, the affiliate marketers will be given a sum of money if they direct their visitors to click on the merchant website. Where do you find the pay per click website then?

You basically find the pay per click merchant at the right hand side of a search engine. For example, you may find the http://www.vemmabuilder.com/ (Make Money 24/7), http://www.affiliatequickonline.com/ (How I can retire young) at the right hand side of Google search engine when you key in “Affiliate” in the search box.

Pay per click is basically performance base, so if something is working well on your certain campaign, you can focus on that area as your strength. At the same time, you can also quickly identifies your weakness within a campaign and quickly move them out from your campaigns.

pic1.gif

Every time when somebody clicks on that website on the search engine, the merchant will pay for that click. However, there are numerous benefits that a merchant could get out of the pay per click:

  1. They get really fast results with PPC. Most of time they get results seen in just days.
  2. Campaigns can be created easily
  3. They can put a broad range of key phrases and keywords
  4. Flexible and fast turnaround
  5. It is completely accountable

Basically a well manage PPC campaign will be able to reduce a merchant cost and increase your return on investment. This is why PPC is so important to the merchants’ business.

How to Get Full Version of WordTrack To Find Affiliate Niche Market? Risk Free!

Filed Under (Luis How To Library) by Luis Tee on 03-05-2008

The method I introduced you in the previous day was actually a method where you could get the number of count/click on the website accessed for free from Wordtracker. It can probably save you some money but it is going to take time. However, it is rather troublesome because you will have to check the competition for each consecutive keyword. You have to spend a lot more time in your venture in affiliate marketing.

In fact you could sign up for free trial in WordTracker, it is a 7 days free trial version provided by WordTracker for those people who wants to know more about it. All you have to do is to sign up your details and you will get the access to most of the WordTracker features for free. This information is needed:

  1. Username
  2. Password
  3. Email
  4. First and last name
  5. Some credit card information

Each customer is limited to one free trial per year, which means if you get your free trial this year, if you have to wait for another one year before you could get the access again to the free trial.

I would suggest you all to do your research first using the method I teach you in the previous blog on WordTracker before you decided to sign up for the free 7 days trial. You must get a rough idea on what business you want to do online using the free resources from Wordtracker. Sign up only when you have an idea or direction and want to know deeper into the subject further.

You can utilize the 7 days free trial period to do the assessment and confirm your niche market in affiliate marketing. Of course, if you don’t intend to continue after the 7 days trial, just cancel the package, risk free and no obligation at all!

How to quantity your keyword search in affiliate marketing Absolutely Free?

Filed Under (Luis How To Library) by Luis Tee on 30-04-2008

The only weakness of Google Adword Keyword Tool is it only provides COMPARATIVE data, which means you could only know ROUGHLY know the popularity a particular keyword is performing. Today I am going to let you know how you could QUANTIFY your keyword research so that you could have more accurate data to leverage your niche market. Simply put, I am going to let you know how many click you are going to get over per unit competing websites. The tool I am going to recommend to you is WordTracker.

Wordtracker was one of the first and easier to use keyword tools on the market. It was developed in 1999, and continues to be used by top affiliate marketers and SEO professionals up to this day. Under the free version, you will be given the information of “Number of Count”(Number of click people search for a particular keyword) for the last 24 hours.  In fact, this is the only information you are going to get. You will know how’s the competition landscape is going to be like as it is only provided in the full version.

Step 1: Click into this website- freekeywords.wordtracker.com

You are entering a free keywords tool Wordtracker is offering for its users, to allow people to try the service and evaluate the possibility to purchase a full usage of Wordtracker.

Step 2: Type in your keyword, say we keep it to the same as “Pet”

1-type-in-keyword.gif

You will be given a list of top 100 keywords.

Zoom into the first 5 keywords.

2-list-of-top-100-keyword.gif

8931 pet shop boys
7668 pet adoption
6606 pet horoscopes
4979 pet finder
4582 pet names

As you can see, there is 8931 click on the word “Pet shop boys” and 7668 click on the word “Pet adoption” in the last 24 hours. This is also mean there is a lot of people interested in those two words as compared to other words in the list.

However, does it mean “Pet Shop Boys” is better than “Pet adoption” (since it has greater count) in term of niche market?

The answer is No, Not exactly.

Now comes the important part,

Step 3: Highlight the word “Pet Shop Boys” and select Copy.

 3-copy-keywords.gif

Step 4: Open a Google Search Engine and paste “Pet Shop Boys” in to the text box.

4-paste-in-google.gif

You will see the number of competing Websites at the top right corner of the website. There are 5,010,000 websites related to “Pet Shop Boys”.

 5-top-right-corner-of-google.gif

Step 5: Repeat Step 3 and 4 on “Pet Adoption”.

 6-key-in-pet-adoption-in-google.gif

Again you will see the number of competing Websites at the top right corner of the website specifically for “Pet Adoption”. There are 1,290,000 websites related to “Pet Adoption”.

6-top-right-corner-of-google-pet-adoption.gif

Step 6: Now divide number of count over number of competing websites.

In this case, for example:

Pet Shop Boys          = 8931/5,010,000 =0.001783- Data 1

Pet Adoption             = 7668/1,290,000 = 0.005944- Data 2

Step 7: this is a step to enable better explanation of the count.

Now, multiply Data 1 and Data 2 with 1,000.

Pet Shop Boys          = 0.001783 x 1,000 = 1.783

Pet Adoption             = 0.005944 x 1,000 = 5.944

Step 8: Define the result

Pet Shop Boys          = There are 1.78 count/people looking for “Pet Shop Boys” in every 1,000 websites they search through.

Pet Adoption             = There are 5.944 count/people looking for “Pet Adoption” in every 1,000 websites they search through.

“Pet Adoption” is more niche than “Pet Shop Boys” even though it is lesser than number count comparatively. If you are looking for niche market, you would want to explore more into Pet Adoption rather than Pet Shop Boys.

To your happiness,

How to Find a Niche Market in Affiliate Marketing? - Part 2

Filed Under (Luis How To Library) by Luis Tee on 30-04-2008

Hi again,

I am still searching for my first Niche Market, of course I learnt a lot from those masters like Ewen Chia, Rosalind and Alvin. However, there is limitation as in to what extend I could reveal what I learnt. Think this topic is not too deep in that I have no worries of getting myself sued just by sharing the information.

I believe those who had tried the site may have also the same question as mine, ya I know the keyword tools could help to list down those major keywords, but how to quantify it? Most importantly, which word to use for our niche market? In affiliate market, finding a niche market is like finding a kingdom of wealth. If you manage to find one, you don’t have to worry about sales, the money will flow in like water.

Let’s continue where we were yesterday. Identify and filter major keywords for affiliate marketing.

Step 4: Go to the Choose column to display, click on to Show All menu.

 lesson1-keywordexperttool-7.jpg

Step 5: On the Calculate Estimate Max CPC, choose US Dollars. Enter “10? into the box as indicated below.

lesson1-keywordexperttool-8.jpg

Step 6: Click on Recalculate Button.

 lesson1-keywordexperttool-9.jpg

you will now see a list of price per click as shown below:

lesson1-keywordexperttool-10.jpg

What does this mean? It indicates a relative estimation of how much people willing to pay per each click in any website.  The average amount you pay each time someone clicks your ad. Average CPC is determined by totalling the cost of all clicks and dividing it by the number of clicks. For example for keyword “adopt a dog”, with a base cost of U$10, people is willing to pay U$1.52 dollars for this keyword per each click.

This is how you will estimate the value of certain keywords.

 Hope this is helpful.
